Colonel Noah Mills, 2nd Iowa Infantry

At the Battle of Shiloh he had his coat sleeve shot away and was also slightly wounded in the chin on 6 April 1862.  He was the Lt. Col. of the 2nd Iowa at the Battle of Corinth, where he was mortally wounded on 4 October 1862, hit in the right leg, necessitating amputation.   He was promoted to Colonel on 8 October 1862, and died as a result of his wounds on 12 October 1862 in Corinth.
