1st Lt. George Washington Ripley, Company B, 32nd Illinois Infantry
Wounded in the right arm at the Battle of Shiloh; he later received a pension due to the wound. At Shiloh, the 32nd served in William's brigade of Hurlbut's division, fighting in the Sarah Bell cotton field and peach orchard.
