2nd Sergeant Elijah Fisher Tucker, Company E, 13th Kentucky Infantry US

According to his autobiography titled "My Life Has Not Been a Blank", Tucker received a slight gunshot wound across the forehead at Shiloh on 7 April 1862.  The bullet slightly deflected off the leather brim of his cap, while the same bullet killed the man standing next to him.  Tucker was wounded several other times during his service, eventually becoming Captain of Company G of the 13th Kentucky Infantry US.
