1st Lt. James McCleery, Company A, 41st Ohio Infantry

While serving in Hazen's brigade, McCleery was wounded on 7 April 1862 at the Battle of Shiloh, losing his right arm.  He remained in the military however and was wounded again at the Battle of Stones River on 31 December 1862.  He served in the post war army and retired in 1870, but his highest rank came in March 1865, when he served as Brevet Brigadier General.
