Cpl. Marcus Humphrey, Company I, 13th Iowa Infantry

Humphrey enlisted on 11 October 1861 and died due to disease and complications from a fever while at Monterey, Tennessee on 10 June 1862, just 2 months after the battle.  Born in Ohio, Humphrey is buried at Shiloh in the National Cemetery.  The 13th Iowa Infantry lost 24 men killed, 139 wounded, and 9 missing at Shiloh.
