Pvt. Francis Charles Cromwell, Company A, 12th Iowa Infantry

Cromwell enlisted in September 1861.  He was wounded at Fort Donelson, but recovered and was with his unit at Shiloh.  He was captured at Shiloh on 6 April 1862, sent as a POW to Montgomery, Alabama, and finally paroled in October 1862.  He was slightly wounded at Vicksburg in 1863.  He died in Iowa in 1910.
