Quiz #11

Recommended Posts

Now for the latest challenge of knowledge.

Name the only confederate cabinet officer who served in the cabinet for the entire duration of the civil war. It has been said that despite the many hardships of the war and financial difficulties of the war, his department operated with a good degree of efficiency. He was with Jefferson Davis almost to the last day of the war.

Sharon,

I believe I must declare you the winner as Stephen Mallory appears to have served two days longer than John Reagan, the confederate Postmaster General who served March 6th to the day President Davis was captured in Washington GA. He was in the party with Davis when captured.

Your award is a bunch of "Atta Boys"to be used when you feel the need of praise..

Thanks Ron - Can I trade a few "Atta Boys" for the identification of the cannons from Fort Pulaski I posted on Flickr yesterday? Pulaski is a really interesting place especially when one realizes that rifled cannons made forts constructed of brick like Pulaski obsolete overnight.
