Quaker cannon

Recommended Posts

Note the new tap handle. I've been looking for a Civil War related tap handle since last winter with no luck. I figured my best hope was something cannon shaped. Then I came upon this web site: https://www.etsy.com/shop/customwoodnc... I sent him a message if to see if he could make one in the form of a mortuary monument cannon. He asked for a picture, so I sent him a shot of Peabody's Shiloh monument. This is what he made for me:
Jim Oates's photo.
it occurs to me that it could be considered a quaker cannon. I do believe I first learned of Ron's raging flock of bulls in relation to Doc Patterson's quaker cannon. Sure hope this one doesn't attract em.

Not to worry Jim as your tap handle is much to small to be a Quaker gun.  Except.........maybe a small charge will work in a small handle.  So Jim, best be cautious when you pull the handle.  Who is your insurance agent?

Jim,

Just maybe the insurance underwriters would not know what information to use to give you a quote for the raging bulls.  They will probably take the easy way out by quoting you an amount of 10 times the national debt.  Good luck Jim
